It’s with a heavy heart that we have to suspend all our activities from the 14th of July 2023.
Due to Scottish Government funding reductions, Sustrans has been required to make the difficult decision to step back from a number of projects including the Active Travel Hub Kilmarnock. With all Hub staff being Sustrans employees, the officers have been placed at risk of redundancy. While the council explores alternative funding streams, the Active Travel Hub Kilmarnock and its associated services will be suspended.
Leading up to the 14th of July, we will run a limited number of activities. Past the 14th of July, please direct all enquiries to info@activetravelhubkilmarnock.org where they will be picked up in due course.
At this challenging time, we would like to thank all partners, beneficiaries and volunteers for your engagement over the years. It’s been a pleasure to inspire, support and enable our local community to walk, wheel and cycle. Seeing the impact, we have achieved together has been nothing short of outstanding.
While the future of the Hub is being decided, we hope that you will continue to support the active travel agenda. Together let’s make it easier for everyone in East Ayrshire to walk, wheel and cycle.
Active Travel Hub Kilmarnock
At the Active Travel Hub Kilmarnock, we are passionate about promoting Active Travel to members of the East Ayrshire community. We help people make the transition to healthier and more sustainable modes of transport whether it be walking, cycling, using public transport or a mixture of all three.
Simply put, we wish to support our community to travel sustainably for more of their journeys, more of the time.
We know that doing so has real benefits that go beyond a reduced carbon footprint, including cost savings for individuals as well as improved health and wellbeing.
We offer a wide range of free activities, services and resources to help you get started.
