The day has come where we close our doors… at least for a while 😢 From the Hub officers, we would like to thank all participants, partners and volunteers for your engagement over the years. It’s been a joy walking, wheeling and cycling with you. We hope our paths will cross on the footpaths and cycle lanes 🚶♀️🧑🦽🚴🏿♀️

🌧️☀️ Embrace the Rain, Chase the Sun!
Despite a little rain, we had a lovely walk around the stunning grounds of Dean Castle today. The weather may have been unpredictable, but our spirits were high as we ventured through the lush greenery. We are grateful to everyone who joins us and embraces the elements with enthusiasm. Together, we are spreading joy, hope, and making our community a better place.

It’s with a heavy heart that we have to suspend all our activities from the 14th of July 2023. Due to Scottish Government funding reductions, Sustrans has been required to make the difficult decision to step back from a number of projects including the Active Travel Hub Ayr. With all Hub staff being Sustrans employees, the officers have been placed at risk of redundancy. While the council explores alternative funding streams, the Active Travel Hub Ayr and its associated services will be suspended.
Leading up to the 14th of July, we will run a limited number of activities.
At this challenging time, we would like to thank all partners, beneficiaries and volunteers for your engagement over the years. It’s been a pleasure to inspire, support and enable our local community to walk, wheel and cycle. Seeing the impact, we have achieved together has been nothing short of outstanding.
While the future of the Hub is being decided, we hope that you will continue to support the active travel agenda. Together let’s make it easier for everyone in South Ayrshire to walk, wheel and cycle.
